The main organ  ("Moreau")    

In 1732 the then residing board decided to replace the derelict Hendrik Niehoff organ. Their choice was Francois Moreau, a Flemish organ builder who lived in Rotterdam. The price of the organ was exceptionally high for the time; 47.642 guilders, 19 stivers and 8 pennies! The organ was to have 52 registers, spread over 3 claviers and pedalo.
On May 13, 1736 the new instrument was put into use. Since then many organ builders have worked on this instrument, viz. Hermanuss Hess (brother of the organist at the time and carriloneur Joachim Hess), F.G.Heyneman, J. Mittenreiter, N.A. Lohman (from whom we owe the splendid clavier console), G.G.F. and J.F. Witte ( responsible for the current reed work) as well as J. de Koff ( who placed the hauptwerk in a swell box).
In 1959-1960 the organ was restored by D.A. Flentrop and from 1976-1981 by Ernst Leeflang Organbuilders.
Currently, the organ is being maintained by Organ Builders Company Reil Brothers who have restored all reed works in 2004.
In spite of the fact that many organ builders have left their traces in the Moreau organ, this beautiful instrument has kept its elegant, baroque somewhat southern character.
And the 19th and 20th century interventions have not changed its character fundamentally but rather enriched. As a result a major part of romantic and present-day music can be played on the organ.
